With a dazzling red carpet that saw major figures from national and international culture walk its length, the city kicked off the 41st Mar del Plata International Film Festival. The opening gala, held at the Sala Astor Piazzolla of the Teatro Auditorium, was hosted by Teté Coustarot and Guido Zaffora, who welcomed a crowd of cinephiles, industry professionals, and distinguished authorities.

One of the most dazzling moments of the evening was the parade of celebrated personalities along the red carpet, with the wonderful Cecilia Roth leading the highlights, joined by talents and filmmakers including Mercedes Alfonsín, Paola Giannini, Alex Linari, Lorena Muñoz, Emilio Kauderer, Martín Slipak, Andrea Rincón, Malena Sánchez, Agustina Agazzani, Maite Lanata, Benjamín Alfonso, Azul Fernández, Carla Moure, Antonia Bengoechea, Nicolás García Hume, Romina Ricci, Nai Awada, Eial Moldavsky, Victoria Kramer, Diego Páez Vilaró, Sebastián Tato Manusovich, Juanita Molina, Eva De Dominici, Carlos Cuarón, Pamela David, Gastón Dalmau, Gonzalo Demaría, Antonella Kruger, Yassine El Idrissi, and Edda Bustamante.

During the ceremony, the key pillars of this edition were presented: a top-tier program featuring more than 180 titles, the Nordic region as Guest of Honor, the historic incorporation of Ventana Sur Tech linking technology with the creative industry, and the INCAA Impulsa acceleration program. The institutional highlight came from the festival’s artistic directors, Jorge Stamadianos and Gabriel Lerman, who introduced British director Martin McDonagh and actress Mariana Di Girolamo through special video messages, before giving way to the opening screening of the highly anticipated feature Wild Horse Nine.
