Vlasta, the Memory is not Everlasting
Screenings
Synopsis
By the time she made her first film in 1960, Vlasta Lah was the only woman to have directed a sound feature in Argentina. Her path was long and difficult: from her childhood in a country torn apart by war, to her training at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, and finally her arrival in Argentina, fleeing yet another war, where she became the most prominent assistant director at Estudios San Miguel. The filmmakers carry out a detective-like investigation to locate her films, which were once considered lost. Through the discovery of her personal correspondence and family archive, Vlasta is brought back from oblivion.
