Violeta Kreimer is an Argentine graduate in Political Science (Universidad Di Tella and Sciences Po Paris) who has been based in Paris since 2003. After 15 years working in the contemporary art world (Fondation Cartier-Bresson, the Louvre, the Venice Biennale, and as director of artist Xavier Veilhan’s studio), she co-founded her own film production company in 2019 alongside Valentina Merli. Since its founding, MISIA FILMS has built bridges between art, fiction, and documentary, with a particular focus on international co-productions. In 2026, the medium-length film Deux personnes échangeant de la salive won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film. Los días libres, by Lucila Mariani — its first co-production with an Argentine company (Maravillacine) — received a special mention this year at the Locarno Film Festival. The Argentine producer behind this year’s Oscar-winning short travels to Mar del Plata to share her experience.
